Sew Happy Class

Service Description

Sew Happy class is perfect for beginners who have never sewn before (or touched a sewing machine before) or have sewn a bit (as in sewn when you were in high school). My goal is that you gain skills and confidence to take on any sewing challenge and that you are inspired to keep sewing! We begin this class with sewing machine safety and operation: load a bobbin, thread your machine, parts of the machine, troubleshooting, supplies that you need to start your sewing journey, etc. You will create 4 different kinds of bags and, in the process, you will learn seam allowance, backstitching, pinning to cut and pinning to sew, fabric placement, topstitching, sewing a zipper, making casings, and more! You will sew: * snappy pouch: this is one of my students' favorite! Cutest and easiest pouch! * drawstring bags: beautiful and practical, ideal for travel, organizing everyday essentials or treasures, or even wrapping gifts in a fun, reusable way. * market tote bag: perfect for grocery shopping and it is reversible *make up (or toiletries) bag: yes, you will sew a fully lined pouch with a zipper! This is a 2 hour class open to adults 18+. Bring your smile, coffee or tea; come with a friend or 2, and let's get sewing! No need to bring anything, there are beautiful fabrics to choose from at the workshop and all notions, supplies and use of sewing machine are included in payment. **IMPORTANT before signing up: Please read policies below.
